We carry out a comprehensive survey of your home and give a detailed report with recommendations to improve the energy use of your home. Areas we examine include the following:
Our report gives a detailed description of the current status of the above areas, together with recommendations on how each area can be upgraded. There is a concise cost-benefit analysis section that provides estimated capital costs, annual running costs, and the impact on the BER rating for each recommended upgrade.
If you are a homeowner thinking of upgrading your heating system, SEAI offers grants of €3,500 to install a heat pump. These grants are for existing houses built before 2011.
To apply for the Heat Pump grant a Technical Assessment is required. At Codex Energy we have registered Technical Advisors that can carry out this Technical assessment and help with the SEAI Heat Pump grant application.
The Technical Advisors’ role is to assess the property to check if it is heat pump ready and if it’s not, specify what upgrade works are required to make the house eligible for SEAI’s heat pump grant.
As part of the Technical Assessment, our assessors carry out a full survey of your property, looking at insulation levels, windows/ doors, and ventilation to assess the heat loss indicator (HLI) of your property. This will help us detail cost-effective upgrade works that will result in a comfortable house that is eligible for the heat pump grant. When this survey is completed, we provide you with a Technical Assessment that you can submit as part of your heat pump application.
A BER (Building Energy Rating Certificate) is mandatory for all houses being sold or rented and new dwellings for owner occupation. If you plan to sell, rent or renovate your home get in contact with us. When you book a BER cert with Codex Energy, a member of our team will make arrangements to carry out a survey of your house.
This survey is a brief energy assessment of the property. The details from this survey are then reviewed and the relevant calculations completed. We then issue the BER certificate for that particular building.
